I'm having to do some serious work to clean up the forum from spambots.

You may notice weird things. Forums listed as having no topics. Topics listed as having way more replies than they actually do.

All I can say is I'm working on it. >_>

I have enabled a "Q&A captcha". This requires new users to enter a word relating to, ah, the site's content. There's an image with eight words, and the sentence refers to one of them. I sincerely HOPE that it's obvious! (For anyone who speaks English, anyway. I mean, this site IS about writing that's in English, so...)

I kind of don't like taking this step, because I'd rather people have as few barriers to entry to the site as possible. But I think this is something that will keep out spambots, plus it is pretty easy for humans to do. It's almost like a little game.

So, comments about whether or not it works will be great!
